Labrador Retriever

This carved emu egg features a black Labrador Retriever.  This breed of sporting dog is trained to flush game and fetch killed or wounded game, principally aquatic birds or pheasants. The breed originated in Canada and was imported into England early in the 19th century. The Kennel Club of England recognized it as a separate breed in 1903. The male stands 23 to 25 inches high at the shoulder and weighs 60 to 75 lb; the female is somewhat smaller. The dog has a short and exceedingly dense coat that is either black, yellow, or chocolate-colored  It has a wide skull, medium-sized ears hanging close to the head, eyes that are usually black or brown, a wide, deep chest, and straight legs. The tail of the Labrador retriever is medium length, very thick at the base, tapers gradually to the tip and is covered with the same kind of short, dense hair that is found in the coat.

The Black Labrador Retriever  Carved Emu Egg can become a personalized gift with an inscription on the back and comes with a hand turned hardwood egg stand.

Because of the variations of color and texture inherent in the emu egg itself, each carved egg will be unique and make a distinctive addition to any decor or collection.  If you are looking for a "different" housewarming gift, birthday present or other special occasion gift for a lab fancier,  this Black Retriever Carved Emu Egg  would be ideal.
