"The Intimidator"
April 29, 1951-February 18, 2001

Ralph Dale Earnhardt was born in Kannapolis, North Carolina on April 28, 1951.  At age 16 he dropped out of school to follow in his father's footsteps and become a race car driver.  Nicknamed "the Intimidator" for his aggressive driving abilities, Earnhardt was a fan favorite across the U. S.  He started racing NASCAR's in 1975 and became a seven-time winner of the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR).

Despite his popularity with fans and  overall success on other race tracks, Earnhardt had repeated disappointments at the Daytona 500, stock-car racing's premier event.  On try number 20, in 1998, he finally won and sealed his reputation as one of the greatest NASCAR drivers in history.  On February 18, 2001 Earnhardt was killed after he crashed his car into a wall during the last lap of the Daytona 500.

This carved egg comes with a hand turned wooden egg stand and can become a personalized gift with an inscription on the back.

Because of the variations of color and texture inherent in the emu egg itself, each carved egg will be unique and make a distinctive addition to any decor or collection.  If you are looking for a "different" housewarming gift, birthday present or other special occasion gift for a NASCAR  or Earnhardt fan, this carved egg would delight them.
