#122 Celebration Diana

Diana, Princess of Wales,
formerly Lady Diana Frances Spencer

July 1, 1961 - August 31, 1997

These carved emu eggs feature Diana, Princess of Wales, during different times in her life.

Unfortunately, in real life people don't always live happily ever after.

#120 Shy Diana

Her romance with Prince Charles, reportedly the worlds most eligible bachelor, captured the imagination of people worldwide, and was touted by the press as a "fairy-tale romance". This carved egg was inspired by those photos of her shyly peeking out from under bangs.

#121 Tiara Diana

On February 24, 1981 it was officially announced that Lady Diana was to marry The Prince of Wales. Hundreds of thousands of people lined the route from Buckingham Palace to St. Paul's Cathedral on July 29, 1981 to watch the arrival of Lady Di and the departure of the Princess of Wales.  Among the countries she visited during the course of her royal duties were Australia, New Zealand, Italy, Brazil, India, Canada, Nigeria, Cameroon, Indonesia, Spain, France, Portugal, Japan, the United States and South Korea.

The prince and princess were separated in 1992 and divorced in 1996.

#122 Celebration Diana

We call this carved emu egg "Celebration Diana" because we celebrate her life.  She was our beautiful, fairy-tale princess.  In the course of her brief lifetime she was president or patron of over 100 charities, though these had been reduced after her divorce so she could devote more time to her children.  Diana, Princess of Wales died tragically on August 31, 1997 following a car accident in Paris, France. The vehicle in which the Princess was traveling was involved in a high-speed accident in the Place de l'Alma underpass in central Paris shortly before midnight on Saturday,  August 30th.

Each of these carved eggs comes with a hand turned wooden egg stand and can become a personalized gift with an inscription on the back.

Because of the variations of color and texture inherent in the emu egg itself, each carved egg will be unique and make a distinctive addition to any decor or collection.  If you are looking for a "different" housewarming gift, birthday present or other special occasion gift for a Princess Diana fan, any of these carved eggs would delight them.
