Born May 2, 1972, Hayward, California This carved emu egg features the 275 pounds of muscle packed on a 6"5" frame known as "The Rock". In carving this emu egg portrait of wrestler/actor Dwayne Johnson for one of his many fans, the artist utilized 5 layers of color - quite a feat considering how thin these layers are. Dwayne Johnson comes from a wrestling background. His father, Rocky (Soulman) Johnson, had a twenty year career as a wrestler before retiring to teach others the art. His mother is Ata Maivia, daughter the late High Chief Peter Maivia and Polyenesian wrestling promoter Lia Maivia. From the wrestling ring he is branching out into tv and movies. After getting his feet wet on shows like "Star Trek, the next Generation", he signed for a small part in "The Mummy". He was so good, he was signed to star in "The Mummy Returns".
