General Hiram Bronson Granbury Carved Emu Egg Hiram Bronson Granbury
March 1, 1831 - November 30, 1864

This carved emu egg features General Hiram B. Granbury, Confederate Army.

When Brigadier General James A. Smith, Commander of Smith's Brigade, and the 10th Texas Infantry was wounded, the command of the brigade went to Col. Hiram Granbury of the 7th Texas Infantry.  The loyalty of the men to Granbury was so great that even though he only led the brigade for  nine months before being killed along with six thousand other soldiers in the Battle of Franklin (TN), the brigade continued to be known as "Granbury's".

Prior to the war Granbury was a lawyer and government official.

This carved egg comes with a hand turned wood egg stand and can become a personalized gift with an inscription on the back.

Because of the variations of color and texture inherent in the emu egg itself, each carved egg will be unique and make a distinctive addition to any decor or collection.  If you are looking for a "different" housewarming gift, birthday present or other special occasion gift for an history major or reenactor, this carved egg will delight them.
