Jay Leno
April 28, 1950

This carved emu egg salutes American comedian and actor, Jay Leno.

Leno started his show business career as a stand-up comedian, working nightclubs, bars or as the opening act for other performers.  A frequent guest host for the Tonight Show, he took over as permanent host when Johnny Carson retired in 1992.  He continues to perform stand-up comedy in Las Vegas, NV or Hermosa Beach, CA on weekends.

After performing bit parts in a number of unsuccessful movies and several TV shows, he landed the role of Detroit police detective Tony Costas, playing opposite Pat Morita (as Japanese Investigator Fujitsuka Natsuo) in the 1989 movie Collision Course.  It was in this movie that he uttered that immortal line: "Stop that garment bag!"  He has performed as a voice actor in several movies.
