William Shatner
Born March 22, 1931- Canada
These carved emu eggs feature a truly fine actor, William Shatner, in his Star Trek role as James Tiberius Kirk, captain of the
starship Enterprise. Prior to assuming the Enterprise bridge in
1966, Shatner had moved from being an established stage actor to playing
major roles in such films as The Brothers Karamazov (1958),
The Explosive Generation (1961), Judgment at Nuremberg (1961), Shame
(1962), Intruder (1962) and Outrage (1964) - as well
as making numerous television appearances. Although the Star
Trek series was deemed a commercial failure and ran only from 1966
- 1969, Shatner did not disappear into obscurity. While continuing
to make guest appearances on various television shows and starring in a
couple of short lived series; he took starring roles in a variety of
movies, some good, some regrettable, before fans demanded the return of
the Star Trek crew to the big screen in 1979. Since that time there have
been more guest appearances than we have room to mention and many movie
roles (see partial list to left). The two eggs below are called

"Dueling Kirks" by the customer who commissioned them. I
believe this came from Episode 5 "The Enemy Within" where due to a
transporter accident we wound up with two Kirks, one good and one bad.
Can you tell which is which?
In addition to his work as an actor, Shatner has authored at least
10 books, directed and/or produced many movies. Please don't send an email about
our not mentioning Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds - that was
deliberate......
Our favorite William Shatner role? Who could forget him as
the "Big Giant Head" on 3rd Rock from the Sun?
The James T. Kirk Carved Emu Egg can become a personalized gift
with an inscription on the back and comes with a hand turned hardwood
egg stand.
Because of the variations of color and texture inherent in the emu
egg itself, each carved egg will be unique and make a distinctive
addition to any decor or collection. Whether you are looking for a
distinctive housewarming gift, birthday present or other special
occasion gift, this carved egg would be a wonderful surprise for any
Star Trek fan who already "has everything".
