Leonard Nimoy as "Spock"
Born March 26, 1931, Boston, Mass.

This carved emu egg features Leonard Nimoy in his Star Trek role of our favorite green blooded alien, Spock.  (3 Emmy Nominations!)

What is it about Spock that fascinates women?  Is it the occasionally raised eyebrow?  The idea that they can invoke some passion in the Vulcan? Or is it just that they like Nimoy's love poems?

Nimoy helped to develop the character of Spock (and indeed, our conception of Vulcan physiology). Not wanting to be drenched with water (so he would appear sweaty) for a fight scene - he talked the producers into the idea that Vulcan's did not sweat.  Recalling that priests would part their fingers in a "V" to symbolize the Hebrew letter shin, he suggested this as a Vulcan greeting.

Nimoy left Boston at the age of 18 to begin his career in Hollywood. Two years later he debuted in films with a small role in Queen for a Day.  This was followed by numerous movie and television roles until he was cast as Spock in the television series, Star Trek.  Following the cancellation of Star Trek in 1969, he landed a role on Mission Impossible as Paris which lasted until 1971.  Other movies and tv roles followed, as has a career as a director, screenwriter and producer.  In addition to scripts, Nimoy has written several books of poetry, 3 biographies and a few songs.  We will not go into his singing career except to say that while he has reportedly made more records than the Beatles, his renditions have met with mixed reviews.  Ok, his books on tape are wonderful - the man has a beautiful speaking  baritone, it's just that he can't sing a lick.  He is creative, talented in many areas, but he just can't sing a lick.

The Spock Carved Emu Egg can become a personalized gift with an inscription on the back and comes with a hand turned hardwood egg stand.

Because of the variations of color and texture inherent in the emu egg itself, each carved egg will be unique and make a distinctive addition to any decor or collection.  Whether you are looking for a distinctive housewarming gift, birthday present or other special occasion gift, this carved egg would be a wonderful surprise for any Star Trek fan that thinks they have everything.
