Blackhawk Trail's End
Inspired by Fraser's bronze, "End of the Trail", this
carved emu egg utilizes the various natural layers and shades to show
great depth and detail.
The Blackhawk warrior is used here as a symbol of all of the
losses the American Indian suffered at the hands of the dominant
invading culture. This one lone warrior and his horse, both exhausted, seemingly
on the point of collapse, still maintain an uneasy balance at the end of
the long trail of losses. The warrior may be tired, but you sense that
he is still strong and will go on, though perhaps along a different
trail.
This carved egg comes with a hand tooled hardwood egg stand and
can be personalized with an engraving on the back.
Because of the variations of color and texture inherent in the emu
egg itself, each carved egg will be unique and make a distinctive
addition to any decor (especially Southwestern) or collection.
